New Yorker’s Family Research Foundation (NYFRF) sponsors a Legislative Prayer Breakfast every Tuesday at the State Capitol (Room 211A LOB). It was originally established as a ministry to legislators and their staffs. NYFRF serves coffee, bagels, muffins, fruit, and juice at no charge. |

Confusion and Misinformation: The New York State Senate |

On December 2, 2009, Governor David Paterson’s same-sex marriage bill was defeated in the New York State Senate by a vote of 38 to 24. All 30 Republican senators voted "no," along with eight Democrats (Sens. Diaz, Aubertine, Stachowski, Onorato, Kruger, Huntley, Monserrate and Addabbo). |

Feminists Choosing Life Files Suit |

A pro-life women’s organization has filed suit to block taxpayer-funded compensation to women who donate their eggs for medical research purposes. The legal complaint was filed on October 9, 2009, in Feminists Choosing Life of New York v. Empire State Stem Cell Board. |

An Once-in-a-Lifetime Election |

The elections that will take place on November 2, 2010, are extremely important, because they will determine the direction of New York State and the nation for the next decade, due to a process called gerrymandering. Gerrymandering takes place when those elected to the State Legislature redraw all state and federal legislative districts for New York State. |
